Monica Andrea Rauda is the secretary for Boricua Festival. This will be her second year with Boricua Festival. She is a resident of Sunset Park and a senior at St. John's University. Monica is majoring in early childhood education with a concentration in history. At the university, she is the President of The Education society, which is a community service orientated academic program. Monica is also on the board for Kappa Delt Pi, International Education Honor Society, and represent The Teaching Opportunity Corporation, which challenges and prepares future educators to work with children. Outside of School, she is a member of the American Cancer Society, a member of the Brooklyn Borough Hall Youth Council, and alumni of Prospect Park Alliance Youth Council, which she still volunteer and serve. Besides doing community service, Monica is also employed with Prospect Park Alliance, where she work's for the Senior Vice President of Youth Programs and Education and President of the Alliance Tupper Thomas. Currently, Monica is signing up to work with the YMCA in Brooklyn. In general, her life is full of happiness, cheerfulness, and dedication. Monica take's prime commitment on what she does. When she has a vision, she take's affirmative action to make it happen. Monica is actively involved in her community and in school. Monica's main concerns are establishing a foundation with the youth and implement adolescence growth and awareness. She is a strong believer on motivation and it is in her field, where Monica can intrinsically and extrinsically inspire children to mature, learn, and be affirmative in their future actions.
